 MY NAME IS RÜDIGER GUHL 

I AM A PHOTOGRAPHER/MAKE UP ARTIST AND PAINT PORTRAITS IN OIL.

From childhood, I knew that I was different. I did not conform to "the norm". I was dreamy, headstrong and very overweight. That offered a lot of room for attack and I experienced a - let's say - anything but harmonious school years. The only thing that earned me some respect from my classmates was my artistic talent. I stood out with it already in the kindergarten age. My painting and drawing skills made such an impression on some teachers and educators that my parents were often told that "their son had a special artistic gift. 

My mother, in particular, believed that I could benefit from this talent. So she supported me when, after years of employment, I finally followed my true calling. By the way, she also stood behind me when I came out as homosexual at the age of 25. 

Since I have a "good knack" for hair styling, I first considered training as a hairdresser. But my love for photography prevailed. It was and is one of my greatest passions. After I could afford a high-quality camera from my first self-earned money, I perfected this art steadily and constantly. With the help of my basic artistic understanding, the right angle of view and the professional handling of light and shadow, I succeeded in taking unique photos that quickly caused a sensation in my hometown of Hamm. I especially loved to put people in the right light, to bring out their often hidden beauty and to capture it in my pictures. In the beginning, I received a lot of support from my sister, who understood the craft of make-up brushes and make-up very well. She later passed this skill on to me, so that I was soon able to start completely independently with a professional one-man service company.

My first shoots initially took place in a makeshift studio in my parents' house or a school gymnasium. But soon the door opened for me to the legendary artist's quarter Radbod. Thanks to a high-quality portfolio, I was awarded my own studio/studio there. 

This studio is to this day my own little kingdom, in which I may live out and realize myself artistically. Here I also created my art figure, the drag queen Paula. I enjoy slipping into her role on various occasions and present myself once as a shining diamond.
